For some reason many people are either obsessed with or passionately hate Twilight. In my opinion the writing is okay and the story is addictive.Many people don't understand its allure but I want to put in terms people will understand....

Before Twilight was popular I had becomed obsessed! I already loved vampire related books because I loved the Idea of immortality. I also remember being told I was a nerd for reading it and that I had no life...No one really cared and it was a hit amongst nerds...When asked what the book was about we would just say "a girl in love with a vampire" and everyone's curiousity was deterred and I must say I prefered it that way.All of a sudden all these preppy girls started reading it and their obsession brought it fame...Of course they were only enamored by the romantic aspect and slight sexual undertones but no one cared to look deeper.For instance the book brings up immortality and whether its worth the sacrifice. It also examines the whole "love at first sight" theme making almost a contemporary novel version of Romeo and Juliet and thats why everyone is obsessed!!!! Because they are in love with the aspect of a perfect guy like Edward..Really nothing more than shallow infatuation and thats why its getting a bad rep. If you looked at it from a different standpoint you might find that is a decent piece of literature...
